What they need

We’re looking for an SLP who wants to help children bloom

Wildflower Wonders Play-Based Therapy | Madison, Alabama

Full-time Approximately $120,000 annually, depending on experience30–40 hours per week Flexible scheduling between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.
250 Sun Temple Drive, Madison, AL 35758

I opened Wildflower Wonders because I wanted a place where children could receive the support they need and have a childhood filled with play, friendships, discovery, and belonging.

A place where their interests help guide us. Where communication means being able to ask for something, share an idea, say “no,” join a game, or connect with a friend. Where families feel heard and clinicians have room to be creative.

We opened in June, and the need has been tremendous. We had an AMAZING SLP this summer as a summer contract only to get us started, before returning to schools. Since then, finding a good fit has been hard as a new clinic! We have a long waitlist, but we’re growing intentionally—finding people who believe in what we’re building.

Now, we’re looking for one full-time Speech-Language Pathologist to help shape our speech program.

What does speech therapy look like here?

It might look like helping a child invite someone into their pretend-play restaurant. Supporting AAC during a sensory activity. Practicing communication through a shared game. Helping children understand one another—and helping the adults around them understand them, too.

There’s room for focused individual therapy, assessments, and structured practice. There’s also room to take those skills into the moments when children actually want and need to use them.

Our clients are primarily ages 4–13, and Speech, OT, and ABA work together in a multidisciplinary outpatient setting. Children receiving ABA have individual RBT support and may attend speech sessions or groups with or without their RBT, depending on their needs and treatment plan.

We want your expertise and your ideas. You’ll have a voice in how our speech services, groups, and programs grow.

A few things we think you’ll love

  • A team that values collaboration and each clinician’s perspective
  • Play-based, relationship-centered care with meaningful opportunities for peer interaction
  • An approximately 6,000-square-foot space, with a large play gym in development
  • On-site testing protocols and plenty of possibilities for creative therapy
  • A steady stream of referrals—no expectation that you find or market to your own clients
  • Room to build your caseload thoughtfully
  • Flexible scheduling, with no required weekends or on-call coverage
  • Paid professional development and potential for PTO, with details discussed during the interview

Who we’re hoping to meet

Someone who loves children, enjoys working with families, and gets excited about finding ways to make communication meaningful. Someone familiar with child development. Feeding therapy experience is preferred, not required.

You don’t need to arrive with every answer. We do need someone who brings sound clinical judgment, curiosity, and a willingness to collaborate—and who believes children deserve to feel safe, supported, and included.

You’ll need:

  • A master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Alabama licensure, or eligibility to obtain it before starting
  • The ability to practice independently without Clinical Fellowship supervision
  • Current CPR certification

Pediatric experience and existing credentialing with BCBS, Alabama Medicaid, and/or TRICARE are a plus. Clinicians who have recently completed their fellowship are welcome to apply. However, we are committed to credentialing you in onboarding as well.

Let’s talk

The full-time salary is approximately $120,000 annually, depending on experience. We’re ready to welcome someone soon, with a start date that works around licensure, credentialing, and your current commitments.

The first step is a phone or video conversation—a chance to get to know each other and talk about what you’re looking for.

Send your résumé to [email protected].

If you’ve been hoping for a place where you can help children communicate, make friends, and feel more at home in the world, I’d love to hear from you.
