Play worker

I'm looking for a playworker to work Mondays to Thursdays. The hours are 3pm to 6pm term-time only.

The job will be to cover maternity leave from September 2026 to February 2027.

Ideal applicant will hold an in-date Enhanced DBS and a childcare qualification level 2 or equivalent. Safeguarding Children, First Aid, Equality & Diversity and Food Safety preferable but not essential as training can be arranged.

As a Play Worker, you will be responsible for creating a safe and engaging environment for children to play and learn.

Duties include: -

• Supervise and interact with children during playtime activities
• Plan and organize age-appropriate games and crafts activities
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in your care
• Assist with snack time
• Maintain a clean and organized play area
• Communicate effectively with parents or guardians

Candidate must have:-

• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to engage and connect with the children
• Strong organizational skills to plan and coordinate activities
• Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with children
• Ability to maintain a safe environment for children at all times

Pay: £12.75 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 12.0 per week
