Playgroup Assistant

Overview

Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Playgroup Assistant! In this dynamic role, you will support the delivery of engaging, safe, and nurturing play-based activities for young children. Your enthusiasm and leadership will help create a positive environment where children can explore, learn, and develop essential social skills. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children’s early years while gaining valuable experience in childcare and management.

Duties

• Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote learning through a play based curriculum.
• Supervise children during playtime, snack time, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and engagement
• Support lead educators with daily classroom management and organization
• Foster positive interactions among children, encouraging social skills and cooperation
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by following health and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers about children’s progress and daily experiences
• Support the overall management of the playgroup, including setting up materials and tidying up after activities

Requirements

• Experience working with children in childcare, nursery, or early childhood education settings
• Strong communication skills in English to interact confidently with children, parents, and team members
• Work effectively within a small team to support them, and guide children’s activities.
• Knowledge of childcare best practices, health & safety standards, and child development principles
• Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with energy and enthusiasm.

Pay: From £12.90 per hour

Expected hours: 27.0 per week
