Role Description

We are looking for a PLC & HMI Programmer to join our engineering team and develop automation solutions for RAVONA’s equipment.

The role covers the full automation lifecycle, from defining control requirements and developing software to system integration, testing, commissioning, and technical support. You will work closely with mechanical, electrical, and process engineers to deliver reliable, intuitive control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, program, and test PLC software, including process sequences, interlocks, and equipment control logic.
• Develop HMI/SCADA applications with clear operator screens, alarm management, process visualization, and recipe handling.
• Configure communication between PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and other connected equipment.
• Translate functional requirements, electrical drawings, and P&IDs into practical automation solutions.
• Integrate hardware and software, troubleshoot faults, and optimize system performance.
• Perform in-house testing and commissioning, and support factory and site acceptance testing.
• Prepare and maintain software documentation, backups, operating instructions, and revision records.
• Support service and maintenance teams and contribute to standardized, reusable automation software.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in PLC programming using ladder logic, function blocks, and structured text.
• Experience with Siemens TIA Portal and/or Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Proficiency in HMI/SCADA development, including screen design, alarms, trends, and data logging.
• Solid understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and communication protocols such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus, and EtherNet/IP.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, P&IDs, and relevant mechanical schematics.
• Experience in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting automated machinery or process systems.
• Degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering, automation, mechatronics, or a related field.
• Good command of technical English for documentation and communication.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.

An Advantage

• Experience with pharmaceutical equipment, isolators, cleanroom systems, or other regulated process environments.
• Familiarity with GMP requirements, equipment qualification, and computerized system validation.
• Experience implementing audit trails, user access controls, electronic records, and reporting functions.
