PLC Programmer / Automation Engineer

Responsible for the development, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of PLC-based industrial automation systems. The position will work closely with the Automation, Electrical, Mechanical, Fabrication, and Service teams in developing machine controls and ensuring reliable machine operation from design up to commissioning and customer support.

Key Responsibilities:

1. PLC Programming & Machine Development

• Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs for automated machines and production equipment.
• Create machine sequence, interlocks, alarms, safety logic, and automatic/manual operating modes.
• Develop and modify HMI screens, machine parameters, alarms, recipes, and monitoring functions.
• Perform PLC program migration, modification, and machine upgrades.
• Integrate PLC with sensors, actuators, motors, VFDs, servo systems, pneumatic systems, and other field devices.

2. Motion & Control

• Configure and program servo motors, stepper motors, and VFDs.
• Implement pulse/direction, positioning, speed, acceleration/deceleration, homing, and motion sequences.
• Perform basic servo tuning and troubleshooting.
• Understand analog input/output applications such as 0–10 V and 4–20 mA

3. Communication & Integration

• Configure industrial communication between PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, meters, and other devices.
• Familiar with Ethernet, RS232, RS485/RS422, Modbus RTU/TCP, and other common industrial communication protocols.
• Experience interfacing different PLC brands or legacy control systems is an advantage
• Able to troubleshoot communication issues using wiring diagrams, PLC diagnostics, and communication parameters.

4. Electrical & Troubleshooting

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, control panel drawings, I/O lists, and wiring diagrams.
• Perform electrical and controls troubleshooting during machine commissioning and service.
• Diagnose problems involving PLC I/O, sensors, relays, contactors, VFDs, servo drives, pneumatic devices, and safety circuits.
• Assist in control panel testing and machine I/O checking.

5. Commissioning & Service

• Perform machine I/O checking, dry run, trial operation, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and buy-off support.
• Troubleshoot machine problems at the customer's site.
• Modify PLC/HMI programs based on actual machine behavior and customer requirements.
• Prepare commissioning/service documentation and technical reports.
• Provide technical support to customers and production personnel.

6. Documentation

• Prepare and maintain:
• PLC/HMI programs
• I/O lists
• Electrical schematics
• Control system documentation
• Backup files
• Parameter settings
• Commissioning reports
• Service reports
• Machine manuals/support documents

Qualifications:

• Graduate of BS/BSIT/Electronics/Electrical/Mechatronics/Automation Engineering or related technical course.
• Equivalent technical experience may be considered.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2–3 years actual PLC programming experience but more important than years is that the applicant has actually built or commissioned machines, not just monitored PLCs.

Pay: Php17,000.00 - Php30,000.00 per month
