PL/SQL Developer

Context and Project

A public organisation manages an existing application portfolio, a significant part of which is developed in PowerBuilder on an Oracle environment. The role sits within the team responsible for the evolutionary and corrective maintenance of these applications.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to PowerBuilder and PL/SQL development in line with the functional and design analysis
• Contribute to the technical analysis
• Carry out unit tests
• Contribute to integration tests
• Improve application performance
• Document the code
• Take part in project meetings and provide regular progress updates
• Work closely with the development team

Expected deliverables

• PowerBuilder and PL/SQL developments
• Enhancements and fixes on the applications supported by the team
• Unit tests and contributions to integration tests
• Minimal technical documentation of the developments delivered

Candidate Profile

Experience

• Senior profile: more than 72 months of experience (6 years)

Required technical skills (minimum 6 years each)

• PowerBuilder, from version 11.5 to version 2022
• Service-oriented architecture concepts applied to PowerBuilder applications
• Oracle Database 10g and above
• PFC (PowerBuilder Foundation Class)
• PL/SQL, with excellent command
• SQL Developer
• CVS version control system

Appreciated skill

• Practical knowledge of JIRA

Soft skills

• Team spirit and collaboration
• Rigour in testing and documentation
• Regular progress reporting
