Plumber / Gasfitter

Plumber/Gasfitter Wanted - Waikato

Start ASAP | Up to $50/hr + $5,000 sign-on bonus + more below

Sick of being rushed through jobs just to hit a number? Same. We'd rather pay properly, give you the time to do it right, and actually listen when you've got something to say. If that sounds like a better way to work, read on.

Note: This advert is mainly about the qualified plumber/gasfitter role below - but if you're an apprentice, or know one, stick with it, there's a bit for you near the bottom too.

What's In It For You

• Up to $50/hr, depending on experience and how independently you can work 💵
• $5,000 sign-on bonus 🤑
• Company vehicle 🚐
• Phone allowance 📱
• Tool allowance 🧰
• Your birthday off, paid 🎂
• Uniform sorted 👕
• Certs paid for ✔️
• A mix of residential and light commercial work - not the same job every day 🏠
• A small crew where you're not just a number 👷
• Time to actually do the job properly
• If you want it, a real shot at running jobs, mentoring an apprentice, or moving into a senior role as we grow - and a say in how that takes shape

The Work

Residential plumbing and gasfitting - maintenance, renos, new builds, with some light commercial thrown in. You'll be out on your own a fair bit, talking to clients directly, and bringing your own standards to the job.

What We Need From You

Tools matter, but we're more interested in whether you actually care about the work.

• Fully qualified Plumber/Gasfitter
• Residential plumbing experience - maintenance, renovations, new builds (light commercial and gasfitting experience both a bonus)
• Comfortable working unsupervised and talking to clients yourself
• Open to mentoring or keeping an eye on an apprentice down the track
• Reliable, switched on, and fussy about the detail
• Full, clean NZ licence

Who We Are

Plumbex Plumbing & Gas - residential plumbing and gasfitting, based in the Waikato. Small team at the moment, growing at a steady pace, and we'd rather do fewer jobs well than rush a heap of them. Our systems keep improving and the work's steady - we just need the right person who wants to grow with us rather than punch a clock.

If You're Starting Out

We're also after an apprentice. The pay and details for that role won't be the same as above, but if you're keen to get into the trade - or know someone who is - apply, or flick us a message via [email protected]. Worth the ask.
