**Hours:**3:00 P.M. to 11:30 P.M., Monday – Friday; 7:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., Sunday – Wednesday; 7:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M., Tuesday – Saturday. Will be required to work standby and overtime as needed.

Other:

Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment. Respiratory screen/chest-ray and Hearing Loss Test required for selected candidate.

Will be required to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) background check in addition to a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Background Check prior to appointment.

Skilled work at the journeyman level installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing fixtures and equipment. Installs, maintains, and repairs pipes, valves, faucets, irrigation systems, water heaters, backflow prevention devices, lavatories, commodes, urinals, traps, sewer vents, grease traps, and other sanitary fixtures. Inspects all safety devices and controls; works from general instructions, building specifications, blueprints, and sketches; completes time and materials estimates. May lead and instruct unskilled and semi-skilled assistants. Work is performed under general supervision and is reviewed through on-site inspections and observations of work in progress.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires qualified applicants to possess the following:

• Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of plumbing experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualified applicants MUST possess the following at time of application:

• A valid Palm Beach County (PBC) or Florida (FL) Plumbing License AND
• A FL Backflow Prevention Certificate.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience maintaining and servicing commercial plumbing systems (must specify on application).
