About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Plumber / Multi-Trade Operative to join our growing Maintenance & Aftercare team, supporting a range of maintenance, remedial and aftercare projects across London and the Southeast of England.

The role will suit an experienced Plumber who is also confident carrying out small multi-trade maintenance works.

You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing customer sites, responding to planned and reactive maintenance requirements, identifying defects and completing works safely, professionally and to a high standard.

The successful candidate will work across a variety of domestic and commercial properties, carrying out plumbing repairs and maintenance alongside general remedial works such as carpentry, basic electrics, tiling, plastering, making good and general building maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative plumbing maintenance.
• Respond to reactive plumbing and general maintenance requests.
• Diagnose plumbing faults and complete repairs to a high standard.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance tasks efficiently and safely.
• Undertake small multi-trade maintenance and remedial works.
• Carry out basic carpentry and joinery repairs.
• Carry out minor tiling, grouting and silicone/sealant works.
• Undertake basic plastering, patching and making-good works.
• Carry out minor decorating and finishing works where required.
• Undertake basic electrical maintenance within the limits of your qualifications and competence.
• Repair and replace fixtures, fittings and general building components.
• Identify defects and report any works requiring specialist attention.
• Maintain accurate service, maintenance and job records.
• Complete job sheets and provide photographs of completed works where required.
• Ensure all works comply with relevant health & safety requirements and site procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Communicate effectively with site teams, management and clients.
• Manage your workload independently across multiple sites and locations.
• Always represent the company professionally.

Multi-Trade Experience

We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate experience in several of the following areas:

Carpentry / Joinery

• Minor repairs
• Doors and ironmongery
• Skirting, architraves and trims
• Shelving and fixtures
• General carpentry repairs

Basic Electrical

• Basic electrical maintenance within your level of competence
• Replacing suitable accessories where appropriately qualified
• Basic fault identification and reporting

Tiling

• Replacement of damaged tiles
• Minor wall and floor tiling
• Grouting and re-grouting
• Silicone and sealant work

Plastering / Making Good

• Patching walls and ceilings
• Filling and repairing minor damage
• Minor plaster repairs
• Making good following maintenance works
• Preparation for decorating

General Building Maintenance

• Fixtures and fittings
• Minor building repairs
• Snagging and remedial works
• General maintenance and finishing tasks

You do not need to be an expert in every trade. We are looking for someone whose main trade is plumbing, but who is capable and confident enough to complete smaller associated maintenance works without needing a separate contractor for every task.

Requirements

Essential

• Relevant plumbing qualification
• Proven experience working as a Plumber.
• Good practical knowledge of plumbing maintenance and repairs.
• Demonstrable experience carrying out multi-trade maintenance works.
• Competent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

• Additional trade qualifications.
• Experience working within commercial or hospitality environments.
• Experience working across multiple customer sites.
• Experience of planned preventative maintenance.
• Experience using digital job management systems.
