Plumber/Pipefitter

Lowry Building & Civil Engineering Ltd is a leading contractor in the construction industry, established over 60 years ago and now employing more than 125 people. We are seeking to appoint a Plumber / Pipe Fitter to join our growing team.

The Role:

This is a full-time, permanent, site-based role. The successful candidate will work across a range of Lowry Building & Civil Engineering sites, supporting client requirements and wider business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be expected to travel between sites as required and work closely with site teams to complete plumbing and pipe fitting works safely, efficiently and to the required standard.

• Installing, maintaining and repairing pipework, including joints, valves, drains and fixtures in a range of structures
• Coordinating with the main contractor and other construction professionals on site
• Understanding and following blueprints or building plans
• Following current plumbing regulations and site requirements to help ensure work passes inspection first time
• Keeping and maintaining records of time spent on a job and materials purchased for the work
• Preparing material estimates and cost information to support budgeting and tendering for potential work
• Responding to plumbing emergencies, determining the issue and making a repair
• Performing regular maintenance of plumbing systems to prevent emergencies

CRITERIA:

• Minimum of two years’ post-qualification plumbing experience
• Proficiency with hand and power tools specific to the plumbing trade
• Knowledge of building regulations and relevant plumbing standards
• Working familiarity with plumbing materials and their appropriate use
• Ability to carry out basic measurements, calculations and material estimates accurately
• Ability to show initiative
• Possess a current plumbing qualification and valid blue skilled worker CSCS card
