Plumbing / Hydraulics Estimator

About the role

SkillCloud is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Plumbing / Hydraulics Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, conducting quantity take-offs, reviewing construction drawings, and preparing competitive quotations for plumbing and hydraulic projects in Australia. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of Australian construction standards, mastery of Groundplan and Simpro, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and quotations for plumbing and hydraulic construction projects.
• Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and material measurements using Groundplan.
• Review and interpret plumbing, hydraulic, and construction drawings, specifications, and plans.
• Utilize Simpro for estimating, job costing, pricing, and preparing project quotations.
• Identify required materials, labor, equipment, and other project costs.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to clarify project requirements.
• Ensure estimates comply with Australian construction practices, project specifications, and applicable standards.
• Review tender documents and identify discrepancies, variations, and potential cost risks.
• Meet project deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality in all estimating tasks.

About you

• At least 1 year of experience in the Australian construction industry, preferably in plumbing or hydraulics.
• Proven expertise in plumbing and hydraulic estimating and quantity take-offs.
• Mastery of Groundplan for digital take-offs and estimating.
• Mastery of Simpro for estimating, job costing, and quotation preparation.
• Ability to read and interpret Australian plumbing and hydraulic drawings.
• Strong understanding of Australian construction materials, pricing, and industry practices.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and time management.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a work-from-home setup.
