What they need

Description Amazon's Worldwide Operations Security (WWOS) Physical Security Implementation (PSI) team is seeking a PM, Physical Security to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of physical security solutions across a large region in AU. In this role, you will own the regional security infrastructure portfolio, drive process improvements, evaluate emerging technologies, and serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for physical security systems. You will influence cross-functional stakeholders, manage complex multi-site programs, and mentor junior team members to raise the bar on execution quality. Your involvement spans from pre-construction phase through site handover and ongoing lifecycle management, ensuring newly constructed facilities and facility expansion projects are completed in accordance with Amazon security frameworks.

Key job responsibilities

Program Management & Delivery

  • Own and drive the complete project lifecycle for physical security solutions across a large region, managing multiple concurrent projects (new builds, expansions, retrofits, and technology upgrades).
  • Lead site launch activities and hold system integrators accountable for scope, schedule, cost, and quality deliverables.
  • Define and manage programming, commissioning, and acceptance testing standards for Access Control, IP-based Surveillance, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
  • Oversee full project lifecycle: bid preparation, specifications, drawings, code compliance, vendor coordination, budget control, change management, security system commissioning, and closeout documentation.

Design Review & Standards Compliance

  • Conduct design reviews, validate execution against GSO/InfoSec/Legal (GIL) standards, and drive change management processes with appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with Amazon security frameworks including WWOS standards, Build Books, and regional security policies.
  • Own the regional project budget including CAPEX planning, cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Manage Purchase Orders, Invoice approvals, and financial close-out for all security projects.
  • Provide cost benchmarking and optimization recommendations across the region.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams (IT, Civil, Electrical, Construction, Launch, S&LP, RME, Procurement, PMO) on security infrastructure matters.
  • Manage vendor relationships including onboarding, RFQ/bid processes, contracting, quality assurance, and operational support.
  • Ensure integrators are adequately covered by active contracts and work with Procurement Category Managers to monitor vendor performance.
  • Lead project closure processes including scope validation, asset documentation, as-built drawings, and lessons-learned reviews.
  • Monitor and report on key performance metrics: vendor performance, budget adherence, cost efficiency, defect rates, and program effectiveness.
  • Maintain and update system documentation with regard to retrofits and changes.
  • Prepare and archive project close-out documentation.
  • Contribute to team training programs and knowledge sharing.
  • Travel frequently (up to 60-70%) to project sites across the assigned region.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • 3+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
