Duties

• Prepare ingredients according to recipes, including slicing, dicing, and portioning with precision using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
• Support food preparation and assembly for meals, adhering strictly to recipe guidelines and portion sizes
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, slicers, and other culinary tools
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols
• Follow food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality during all stages of meal prep
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service delivery
• Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining consistency and presentation standards
• Assist in inventory management by monitoring supplies and notifying supervisors of stock needs or shortages
• Uphold safety standards in production areas by practicing proper food safety management techniques at all times

Experience

• Previous experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
• Proven background in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating strong food handling skills
• Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes
• Experience operating kitchen equipment safely within a fast-paced setting
• Familiarity with safety standards related to food production and handling practices in the food industry
• Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and support team efforts
• Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, cooking methods, and food safety management principles is preferred
• Catering experience or involvement in large-scale meal preparation projects is a plus

Pay: $17.50 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32.0 – 40.0 per week
