What they need
Role purpose: Act as SPD's delegate inside assigned transformation programs and projects. Understand each project well enough to see its real status, raise issues and concerns early, and work with project managers to solve problems — independently, with minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities:
- Represent PMO in assigned programs and projects: attend project meetings, working sessions and steering committee preparation.
- Build a working understanding of each project's scope, business case, plan, deliverables and IT dependencies, so status can be assessed independently rather than taken as reported.
- Monitor progress against milestones, budget and scope; spot early warning signs of delay, cost overrun or scope creep.
- Raise issues, risks and concerns early and escalate through the PMO governance path when needed.
- Work with project managers to solve problems: identify root causes, agree options and action plans, and follow through to closure.
- Check that assigned projects follow PMO governance — stage gates, reporting templates, documentation and change control.
- Prepare status reports, briefs and issue summaries for the Head of PMO, management and steering committees.
- Track benefits and value realization for assigned projects against their approved business cases.
- Train, guide and review the work of the PMO Analyst.
- Contribute to improving PMO processes, templates and tools.
- Perform other related tasks which may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, experience and skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related field.
- Experience: 5-7years of experience, including 3 years in project management, PMO, IT delivery or management consulting.
- Project understanding: Solid grasp of the IT delivery lifecycle and Agile/Waterfall methods; able to read project plans
- Problem solving: Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills; can move a discussion from issue to agreed action.
- Independence: Able to manage own portfolio and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Influence: Confident to challenge project managers and senior stakeholders respectfully, and to escalate when needed.
- Coaching: Experience training or guiding junior team members.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal communication in Thai and English; able to turn complex project status into concise management reporting.
- Tools: Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with MS Project, Jira, Power BI or similar is an advantage.
- Advantage: PMP, PRINCE2 or Agile certification; insurance or financial services experience.
