Job Description

Desertman Transporting and Contracting LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented PMV Coordinator (Plant, Machinery & Vehicles) to support our construction, infrastructure, transportation, and heavy equipment operations in Abu Dhabi.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the deployment, utilization, maintenance, and documentation of heavy equipment, earthmoving machinery, trucks, and company vehicles across multiple project sites. The role requires strong coordination skills, equipment knowledge, and the ability to ensure operational efficiency while minimizing equipment downtime and costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the allocation, mobilization, demobilization, and transfer of plant, machinery, and vehicles across project sites.
• Monitor daily equipment availability, deployment, operating hours, and utilization.
• Coordinate with project managers, site teams, drivers, equipment operators, transport personnel, and workshop teams to meet operational requirements.
• Follow up on preventive maintenance, servicing, breakdowns, and repairs to minimize downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment movements, utilization, timesheets, fuel consumption, maintenance, and repair costs.
• Monitor vehicle registration, insurance, permits, inspection certificates, and other relevant documentation.
• Coordinate the transportation and mobilization of heavy equipment to construction and infrastructure sites.
• Monitor fuel consumption, equipment performance, and operating expenses, and report discrepancies.
• Coordinate with procurement and workshop teams for spare parts, repairs, and external equipment rentals.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on equipment utilization, availability, maintenance, and breakdowns.
• Ensure equipment and vehicles are deployed according to project priorities and operational requirements.
• Support compliance with company procedures, project requirements, and applicable UAE safety and transport regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in PMV coordination, plant and equipment management, fleet coordination, or a similar role.
• Experience in a construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, earthworks, or transportation company is preferred.
• Good knowledge of heavy equipment, including excavators, wheel loaders, bulldozers, graders, rollers, dump trucks, trailers, and other construction machinery.
• Experience coordinating equipment deployment, maintenance, workshop activities, and vehicle documentation.
• Knowledge of equipment utilization, fuel monitoring, timesheets, asset registers, and maintenance records.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and equipment or fleet management systems.
• Strong organizational, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coordinate with multiple departments and project sites.
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Logistics, or a related field is an advantage.
• Candidates currently based in the UAE with relevant construction industry experience are preferred.

Note: Candidates must have relevant PMV experience in the construction, transportation, or heavy equipment industry.
