PMV Engineer- Tower Crane

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced PMV Engineer- Tower Cranes with UAE construction experience to conduct inspections, testing, and safety assessments of tower cranes on high-rise building projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring tower cranes are operating safely, identifying defects, maintaining inspection records, and ensuring compliance with UAE safety regulations and manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and periodic inspections of tower cranes, lifting equipment, and related accessories.
• Perform pre-operation inspections and verify the safe working condition of tower cranes before use.
• Inspect critical crane components including mast sections, bolts, jib, trolley system, hoisting system, brakes, motors, wire ropes, limit switches, and safety devices.
• Identify mechanical, structural, and operational defects and prepare detailed inspection reports.
• Verify crane assembly, installation, climbing, and dismantling activities are carried out as per approved procedures.
• Ensure tower cranes comply with manufacturer recommendations, approved lifting plans, and project safety requirements.
• Check load indicators, safety devices, alarms, and control systems for proper functioning.
• Inspect lifting accessories such as slings, shackles, hooks, and other rigging equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, certifications, maintenance activities, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with crane operators, maintenance teams, lifting supervisors, and site management regarding inspection findings.
• Follow up on rectification of identified defects and ensure cranes are safe before returning to operation.
• Support HSE teams during audits, safety inspections, and compliance checks.
• Ensure all inspection activities comply with UAE construction safety standards and client requirements.

Safety Responsibilities

• Ensure tower cranes are operated only after successful inspection and approval.
• Report unsafe conditions, defects, or non-compliance issues immediately.
• Participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings related to lifting operations.
• Promote safe lifting practices among crane operators and site teams.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Engineer -Tower Crane in UAE.
• Strong experience in high-rise building construction projects.
• Good knowledge of tower crane components, operation, installation, and maintenance requirements.
• Experience in inspection of tower cranes from different manufacturers is preferred.
• Knowledge of lifting operations, crane safety standards, and inspection procedures.
• Ability to prepare inspection reports and maintain documentation.
• Relevant certification in tower crane inspection/lifting equipment inspection will be an advantage.
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with site teams.
