Role and Responsibilities

• Transporting Dry Bulk: Hauling dry powdered cement or concrete additives from terminals to batch plants or construction sites.
• Operating Air Compressors: Using onboard pneumatic blowers and air compressors to pressurize the tanker and offload material safely through hoses.
• Performing Inspections: Conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip safety checks on the tractor, pneumatic tank, valves, and hoses.
• Managing Compliance: Maintaining electronic logging devices (ELDs) and adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) safety rules.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Commercial Driver's License: Holding a valid Class A CDL (often required for multi-axle tanker configurations).
• Endorsements: Typically requiring a tanker (N) endorsement depending on the specific tank capacity and state regulations.
• Medical Card: Passing a current DOT medical physical examination.
• Experience: Many regional employers look for 1 to 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience, preferably with bulk pneumatic trailers or tankers.
