POD in Charge

About the role

S&P Trucking Services is seeking an experienced POD in Charge to join our warehousing, storage and distribution operations based in Iloilo City, Iloilo. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in managing our Point of Delivery (POD) operations, ensuring efficient handling, documentation, and delivery of shipments. As POD in Charge, you will be responsible for overseeing all POD activities, coordinating with drivers and logistics teams, and maintaining accurate records to support our commitment to timely and reliable service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all Point of Delivery operations, ensuring smooth receipt, processing and dispatch of goods
• Coordinate with drivers and delivery personnel to verify shipment details, quantities and conditions upon arrival and departure
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date POD documentation, including signatures, timestamps and delivery confirmations
• Monitor and track incoming and outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with delivery schedules and customer requirements
• Resolve discrepancies and issues related to deliveries, including damaged goods or missing items, and escalate as necessary
• Ensure all POD records are properly filed and accessible for audits and customer inquiries
• Liaise between warehouse staff, drivers, customers and management to facilitate efficient operations
• Perform quality checks on documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Support inventory management and reconciliation processes as required
• Maintain a safe and organised POD environment in compliance with company policies and safety regulations

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in POD management, logistics coordination or warehouse operations in a similar role
• Strong organisational and documentation management skills with meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication abilities to effectively coordinate with diverse teams including drivers, warehouse staff and customers
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications including Microsoft Office
• Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills to address operational challenges and discrepancies promptly
• Knowledge of logistics and distribution processes is advantageous
• Physical ability to perform duties that may involve standing, walking and lifting items of moderate weight
• Reliability and a strong work ethic with a commitment to punctuality and professional conduct
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or supply chain management are preferred
