The Montoursville Police Department is accepting applications to establish an eligibility list for the hiring of Full-Time Police Officers.

Competitive Salary & Benefits:

We welcome lateral officers: Prior Police Service Credit: Officers previously employed as full-time officers will receive credit equal to 50% of their service for determining starting pay. HIRING BONUS OF UP TO $10,000 depending on experience.

Salary:

· 0-1 years: $69,135

· 2 years: $70,656

· 3 years: $72,199

· 4 years: $73,741

· 5 years: $75,263

· 6 years top rate: $76,805

Who We’re Looking For:

Applicants must:

· Be 21 years of age or older

· Be a United States Citizen

· Possess a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license

· Possess a high school diploma or equivalent

· Have successfully completed Act 120 Police Academy OR currently attending Act 120 Academy and must graduate by December 1, 2026.

Candidates must successfully complete the following:

· Physical Agility Test

· Written Examination

· Oral Interview

· Psychological Evaluation

· Background Investigation

· Medical Examination, including Drug Screening

· Photo identification must be provided at the time of testing.

A Civil Service Examination will be administered to establish an eligibility list. Candidates who successfully complete the required testing and evaluations will be placed on the eligibility list for hiring consideration.
