The role will require you to:
- Undertake complex research, evidence synthesis, and qualitative/quantitative analysis to support the statutory review assessment teams and review priorities.
- Review and analyse assessment findings, audit evidence, submissions, and technical inputs developed by subject matter experts, identifying key themes, systemic risks, and opportunities.
- Draft clear, concise, and evidence-based written products suitable for review reporting, ministers, and broader government audiences (including briefing materials, discussion papers, assessment summaries, and initial draft findings).
- Work collaboratively alongside technical specialists, legal advisers, and review leadership within the statutory review secretariat.
Suitable candidates will have:
- Demonstrated experience analysing and synthesising complex information from multiple sources into high-quality, plain-English reports, executive briefs, or submissions.
- Strong track record working within government, regulatory, or policy environments, ideally with experience supporting time-limited reviews, inquiries, evaluations, or statutory assessments.
- Proven ability to translate dense, technical, or specialist material into accessible narratives for senior decision-makers without losing accuracy or objectivity.
- Ability to engage and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including technical subject matter experts and regulatory personnel.
- Familiarity with the offshore energy/petroleum sector, regulatory environmental frameworks, legal research, Cost Recovery Implementation Statements (CRIS), or business systems analysis is highly regarded.
