Policy Analyst

At Intact, we're looking for a Policy Analyst to help shape, review and improve business policies, processes and governance frameworks. This role plays a key part in ensuring policies remain compliant, effective, and aligned to organisational objectives while supporting stakeholders across the business with policy development and implementation.

The successful candidate will combine strong analytical skills with excellent stakeholder management capabilities, using data, research and industry insight to influence decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyse and maintain company policies, standards and governance frameworks.
• Research regulatory, legislative and industry developments to assess potential business impacts.
• Support the development, implementation and communication of new policies and policy changes.
• Conduct policy gap analysis and recommend improvements to strengthen controls and operational effectiveness.
• Collaborate with business leaders, compliance teams and subject matter experts to ensure policies remain current and fit for purpose.
• Interpret complex information and present clear recommendations to stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
• Monitor policy adherence and support assurance activities, audits and governance reviews.
• Produce reports, briefing papers and policy documentation to support decision-making.
• Analyse data and trends to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
• Contribute to business projects by providing policy, governance and regulatory expertise.
• Support training and awareness activities to ensure understanding and compliance with company policies.

Experience & Skills

• Previous experience in a Policy Analyst, Governance Analyst, Business Analyst, Compliance Analyst or similar role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex information.
• Experience developing, reviewing or implementing policies, procedures or governance frameworks.
• Excellent written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise documentation.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence and challenge constructively.
• Experience working within a regulated environment such as insurance, financial services or a corporate setting would be advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Degree-level qualification or relevant professional experience preferred.
