For over 70 years, our community-owned, not-for-profit organisation has provided the Canberra and regional community with vibrant and luxurious retirement living villages, reliable and innovative home care, and the very best in residential aged care facilities.

Enjoy more than just a great career

At Goodwin, you’ll be part of a respected, values-driven organisation with generous employee benefits. Increase your take-home pay with up to $15,900 tax-free salary packaging plus an additional $2,650 for meal entertainment. About the role

We are seeking an organised and detail-focused Policy Coordinator to join our Risk, Policy and Compliance team.

Working closely with the General Manager Risk, Policy and Compliance, you will support policy development, review and document control across the organisation. You will collaborate with managers and subject matter experts to ensure policies and procedures are current, accessible and aligned with legislative, regulatory and organisational requirements.

You will coordinate the policy lifecycle, from research and consultation through to approval, publication and review. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining Goodwin’s policy management framework, policy register and review schedule.
  • Coordinating policy development, stakeholder consultation, reviews and approvals.
  • Researching legislative and industry requirements, identifying policy gaps and recommending improvements.
  • Drafting, editing and updating policies, procedures and supporting documents.
  • Managing document version control, templates, publication and archiving.
  • Administering policy and compliance systems, including registers, workflows and reporting.
  • Supporting compliance reporting, audits, registration renewals and quality assurance activities.
  • Helping communicate policy changes and supporting related training and implementation.
  • Improving policy governance processes and monitoring review completion and compliance metrics.

About you

You bring strong writing skills, sound judgement and a practical approach to coordinating work across teams. You can turn complex information into clear, well-structured documents and manage competing priorities with care and accuracy.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Demonstrated ability to draft, review and edit policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • An understanding of policy management systems, document control and approval workflows.
  • The ability to research and interpret legislative requirements and assess their implications for organisational policies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and PDF editing tools.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build productive relationships with managers and subject matter experts.
  • A high level of integrity, discretion and attention to detail.
  • A commitment to inclusion, cultural respect and person-centred care.
  • A current driver’s licence.

Applicable penalty rates and allowances will be paid in accordance with the relevant industrial instrument and employment arrangements.
