Pollution Control Office

About the role

The Pollution Control Officer is responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permit requirements, particularly in the proper management of waste, pollution prevention, and environmental protection at construction sites.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and ensure compliance with DENR environmental laws, regulations, permits, and conditions applicable to the project
• Implement and monitor proper waste segregation, storage, handling, and disposal, including hazardous and construction wastes
• Conduct regular environmental inspections and monitoring of construction activities to identify potential sources of pollution
• Prepare and maintain environmental reports, records, monitoring documents, and compliance submissions required by regulatory agencies
• Coordinate with project personnel, contractors, and workers regarding pollution prevention, environmental protection, and proper waste management practices
• Investigate environmental incidents, recommend corrective actions, and monitor their implementation
• Conduct or assist in environmental awareness training and toolbox meetings for site personnel
• Coordinate with DENR-EMB and other concerned authorities during inspections, monitoring, and compliance activities
• Ensure proper maintenance of environmental facilities and equipment, such as waste storage areas, wastewater controls, and pollution-control devices
• Recommend measures to minimize air, water, soil, noise, and other forms of pollution arising from construction operations

About you

• Graduate of any Bachelor's Degree Course
• Preferably a DENR-recognized/accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO)
• Knowledgeable in Philippine environmental laws, DENR-EMB regulations, and construction environmental compliance
• Experience in environmental management, preferably in the construction industry, is an advantage
• Good documentation, reporting, communication, and coordination skills
• Willing to conduct regular site inspections and monitoring
