Pollution Control Officer

The Pollution and Control Officer inspects and investigates sources of pollution to protect the public and environment, ensure the company's conformance with regulations and ordinances, and update permits, licenses, applications, and records of compliance.

JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Attend to the requirements of the Company prior to the construction or installation of pollution control facilities, including the application and securing of necessary pollution permits and renewal.
2. Recommend to the management the installation and operation of additional equipment for the pollution abatement facilities.
3. Report within reasonable time to the SHE Manager the breakdown or damage of any pollution control facility, including the plan, budget, and schedule for repair.
4. Monitor facility activities to ensure that all processes comply with the air, noise, and water quality standards.
5. Analyze periodic facilities performance to determine problem areas and opportunities for improvement.
6. Facilitate the preparation of internal reports, as well as external reports, in compliance with government requirements.
7. Attend the meetings and trainings for Pollution Control Officers which may from time to time be required by the governing agencies and update the management on new laws or requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science or equivalent
• Pollution Control Officer Certification
• 2 years of experience as Pollution Control Officer/Safety Officer
• Extensive knowledge of processing regulatory and permitting requirements from DENR/ LLDA, among others
• Thorough knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
• Strong understanding of the operational processes of a wastewater treatment facility
• Good communication and presentation skill
