What they need
The role involves performing polysomnography, scoring recordings, and maintaining testing equipment in a Sleep Disorders Center.
Responsibilities include evaluating patients for sleep-related breathing disorders, seizure disorders, and narcolepsy, along with clerical work and documentation to support clinical and operational functions.
Qualifications include graduation from a Respiratory Care Program, completion of the A-STEP program, or a CAAHEP-accredited program.
Required credentials are RPSGT from BRPT, SDS from NBRC, or RST from the American Board of Sleep Medicine.
Alternately, candidates must be Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners with NBRC registration and obtain certification within 1 year.
Additional requirements include current CPR certification.
Preferred qualifications are at least 1 year of polysomnography experience and 6 months working with pediatric patients.
