At BlueFit, we believe local recreation centres are the beating heart of a community. We are proud to partner with the City of Wanneroo to open the brand-new Alkimos Aquatic and Recreation Centre (AARC), and we’re looking for high-energy, organised Pool Deck Coordinators (Casual) to help us launch our aquatic operations from the ground up!

What the Role is Really About

As a Pool Deck Coordinator, you are the champion of our aquatic community. Working hand-in-hand with the Duty Managers and Aquatic Leadership team, you’ll oversee day-to-day pool deck operations, safety supervision, swim school deck coordination, and casual lap and leisure swimming to ensure a fun, safe environment for everyone.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Pool Deck Leadership: Lead from the front by being a visible, active presence on the concourse during peak swim times, supporting lifeguards, and keeping deck operations running seamlessly.
• Aquatic & Program Support: Oversee smooth swim school transitions, coordinate deck setups for casual swimming and squad training, and ensure teachers and lifeguards have the equipment they need.
• Safety & Water Quality: Drive strict adherence to water safety protocols (GSPO), monitor bather loads, assist with water testing, and keep the pool concourse clean, presentable, and hazard-free.
• Customer & Team Engagement: Act as the go-to person on the deck for parent queries, swimmer support, and team guidance, resolving minor issues on the spot with a friendly, positive attitude.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• Hands-On Leadership: You’re an active, approachable leader who loves engaging with patrons, swim families, and lifeguards rather than sitting behind a desk.

• Aquatic Expertise: Solid background in aquatics, life guarding, swim teaching, or pool deck supervision within a busy leisure facility.

• Community Focus: Genuine passion for water safety, customer service, and creating a welcoming, inclusive environment for local swimmers.

• Organisational Skills: Strong communication skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm and structured during peak pool hours.

• Essential Requirements:

  • Current Pool Lifeguard Award (or relevant Aquatic Supervision qualification)
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid & HLTAID009 Provide CPR
  • Current Working with Children Check (WA)
