What they need

About Us

That Pool Shop is a fast growing Adelaide-based pool servicing business focused on providing high-quality, reliable service and building long-term relationships with our customers.

We’re a hands-on business, not a large corporate or franchise. We value people who are reliable, practical, take ownership of their work and want to build something long term.

We’re looking for a Pool Technician who wants more than just a job. Someone who is looking for stable employment, enjoys practical work and is keen to learn and develop their skills with us.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent, mobile residential pool servicing role across Adelaide.

You don’t need previous pool industry experience. We will train the right person from the ground up.

Your typical day will involve:

  • Travelling to residential pool properties across Adelaide
  • Completing approximately 8–10 service jobs per day
  • Cleaning and maintaining swimming pools
  • Testing and balancing pool water chemistry
  • Identifying and troubleshooting basic pool and equipment issues
  • Performing basic equipment maintenance and installations as you develop
  • Recording accurate job notes and service details
  • Communicating professionally with customers
  • Following our service, safety and quality procedures

The work is practical, hands-on and outdoors, so you’ll need to be comfortable being active throughout the day and working in different weather conditions.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is reliable, practical, resourceful and genuinely interested in learning.

You’ll be a strong fit if you:

  • Have a proven history of staying in your previous roles, ideally 3+ years in recent positions
  • Are looking for a long-term career opportunity
  • Have good problem-solving and time management skills
  • Are mechanically minded and comfortable working with tools, machinery or equipment
  • Can troubleshoot basic problems and use common sense to work out what to check or try next
  • Are comfortable working independently once trained
  • Take ownership of your work rather than waiting to be told what to do
  • Learn quickly and are open to feedback
  • Take pride in doing a job properly
  • Are organised and able to manage a busy daily schedule
  • Are comfortable using a smartphone and learning apps such as ServiceM8
  • Have good communication skills and are comfortable dealing with customers
  • Are physically capable of working outdoors and performing hands-on tasks
  • Experience in a mechanical, maintenance, machinery, automotive, equipment or other hands-on environment will be highly regarded.

What We Provide

  • $60,000 – $80,000 salary, depending on experience and capability
  • Full-time, permanent employment
  • Company vehicle for work use
  • Work phone/device
  • Paid training
  • Structured onboarding and ongoing support
  • Stable, year-round employment
  • Clear systems and processes
  • Ongoing technical development
  • Opportunity to progress into senior technician responsibilities

Essential Requirements

  • Valid and active Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Strong communication skills
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Comfortable using a smartphone and basic apps
  • Willingness to learn and follow established systems
  • Ability to work independently after training
  • Physically capable of performing outdoor, hands-on work
  • Demonstrated employment stability
