PORTABLES TECHNICIAN

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Portable Equipment Technician to join our fast-paced warehouse operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, operating, and troubleshooting portable materials handling equipment to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse distribution processes. Your expertise will help optimize inventory management, support order picking, and uphold safety standards across all warehouse activities. Duties

• Operate and maintain portable equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other heavy machinery to load, unload, and transport materials safely within the warehouse.
• Assist with order picking using RF scanners and manual handling techniques to fulfill shipping and receiving requirements accurately.
• Load and unload shipments efficiently while adhering to safety protocols for heavy lifting and materials handling.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning; troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Support inventory management activities by organizing stock, recording movements with RF scanners, and updating inventory records.
• Follow safety procedures diligently during all operations, including proper manual handling and use of material handling equipment.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate tasks, improve workflows, and ensure compliance with warehouse operations standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience in warehouse distribution or related logistics environment with a focus on equipment operation.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including order picking, shipping & receiving, inventory management, and materials handling.
• Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, cranes, pallet jacks, and other material handling tools; forklift certification is preferred.
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks involving heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with RF scanners for order picking and inventory updates; basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Understanding of safety protocols related to warehouse activities including load & unload procedures and equipment operation.
• Previous experience supervising or coordinating warehouse tasks is a plus but not required.

Pay: $20.00 per hour
