Porter Hire Hire Controller

Servicing the New Zealand construction, civil and mining sectors amongst others, the Porter Group has a strong presence and reputation as the leader in heavy hire. This privately owned, long established and well-resourced company has a substantial rental equipment fleet and branch network throughout New Zealand.

We are seeking a Hire Controller to join our Cromwell team. This role will report to the Regional Hire Manager and will be responsible for the day-to-day branch administration functions, including daily interactions with customers and internal staff members.

The right person will primarily be a customer focused team player either with experience in heavy equipment, rental or related service sectors or someone is willing to learn the hire industry.

Duties

• Deal with on-line and telephone enquiries and orders from customers to ensure all orders are interpreted and delivered to the specifications required.
• Liaise with other branches, hire controllers, branch managers, drivers, and the mechanical team to ensure that equipment is available, maintained, and ready to be delivered to our customers.
• Process invoices, hires, off hires and transfers.
• Process manual paperwork when necessary.

Skills Required

• Computer operation skills at a basic to intermediate level
• Microsoft Office software skills at basic-intermediate level
• Strong communication skills to liaise with customers, staff, and management
• A current driver's license
• A physical fitness level to carry out light manual handling duties
• Being mentally fit to deal with the daily activities of the equipment hire industry
• Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
• A good command of the English language
