[Porto] Senior Linux Systems Administrator

The Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer will be the Porto-based member of a small, high-accountability infrastructure team responsible for first-line support of live trading systems across approximately 120 servers globally.

This is a hands-on, OS-level sysadmin role. The successful candidate will own server-side operations within the trading infrastructure team, working closely with a network engineer and the Head of Infrastructure to ensure reliability, performance, and continuity of mission-critical trading systems around the clock.

GOALS AND DELIVERABLES

• Manage and support RHEL-based server infrastructure across globally distributed trading environments

• Provide first-line troubleshooting and incident resolution for server-side issues in a live 24-hour trading platform

• Perform OS-level administration including user management, access controls, performance monitoring, and system tuning

• Execute OS updates, patching, and upgrades in coordination with the broader Porto infrastructure team

• Automate repetitive operational tasks to improve consistency and reduce manual intervention

• Monitor system health proactively, identifying and resolving issues before they impact trading operations

• Collaborate with development, network, and FXOPS teams to support the full technology stack

• Contribute to the build-out of local Ansible automation capabilities within the infrastructure team

• Support disaster recovery, backup operations, and business continuity processes

• Participate in informal on-call rotation to cover critical incidents outside standard business hours when required

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Proven track record as a hands-on Linux systems administrator in production environments, ideally mission-critical or financial sector

• Deep hands-on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7 and 8 specifically)

• Strong OS-level troubleshooting skills: disk space, process management, connectivity, performance diagnostics

• Experience with shell scripting (Bash) for operational automation

• Familiarity with Ansible for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management

• Background in server hardware management, OS migrations, and distributed infrastructure

• Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a small, lean team

• Experience with monitoring tools (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, or equivalent)

• Exposure to virtualization technologies (VMware or equivalent)
