POST BASIC NURSE(RENAL)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Post Basic Nurse (Renal) to join our team at N&K Dialysis Centre. This is a full-time position based in Johor Bahru, Johor. In this pivotal role, you will provide specialised nursing care to renal patients, contributing to their treatment and overall wellbeing. The Post Basic Nurse (Renal) plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality patient care within our dialysis centre, ensuring that patients receive safe, effective and compassionate treatment tailored to their individual clinical needs.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to renal patients undergoing dialysis treatment, including assessment, monitoring and evaluation of patient conditions
• Administer medications and manage intravenous therapies as prescribed by medical staff
• Monitor vital signs and report any abnormalities or changes in patient condition to senior medical personnel
• Prepare dialysis equipment and ensure all clinical areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety
• Assist in the insertion and maintenance of vascular access sites, including fistulae and catheters
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with regulatory requirements
• Provide patient education and support regarding dialysis treatment, dietary management and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and standard precautions at all times
• Respond promptly to patient requests and concerns, demonstrating empathy and professionalism

What we're looking for

• Post-basic nursing qualification in renal nursing or relevant specialised nursing field
• Current and valid nursing registration with the appropriate regulatory body
• Minimum 2-3 years of nursing experience in a renal or dialysis setting
• Strong knowledge of renal disease, dialysis procedures and associated complications
• Proficiency in infection control and aseptic techniques
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple patients with varying clinical needs
• Commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining clinical competency
• Empathy, patience and compassion towards patients with chronic kidney disease
• Experience with patient documentation systems and electronic health records is advantageous
