PostgreSQL-DB Administration Professional

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer PostgreSQL database servers.
• Perform database backup, restoration, upgrades, and version migrations.
• Monitor database performance, health, and capacity to ensure optimal availability.
• Troubleshoot database issues related to performance, connectivity, and stability.
• Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations for improved performance.
• Manage database users, roles, privileges, and security in accordance with organizational policies.
• Implement and maintain High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Monitor replication, failover mechanisms, and database synchronization.
• Perform routine database maintenance, patching, and health checks.
• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams for database deployments and performance tuning.
• Create and maintain database documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL Database Administration.
• Experience with PostgreSQL installation, configuration, backup, recovery, and migration.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL replication, streaming replication, and HA/DR solutions.
• Experience in SQL query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Good understanding of database security, user management, and access controls.
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and database performance analysis.
• Knowledge of shell scripting or automation is an added advantage.
