KEY FEATURES OF THE POSITION

Roles and Responsibilities

• PostgreSQL Server DBA The Database Administrator implements and administers PostgreSQL Databases, installs and maintains database products, including patch application and upgrade of environments. Works closely with business, application development teams to solve business problems, development, testing or demonstration of databases. Performs many related database functions across one or more engineering teams, including designing, installation and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery design and configuration management

• This role requires a very close collaboration with the UNIX Database solutions team in Zurich, solving incidents there during Asia working hours and supporting them with other engineering or operational tasks.

• Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management Ensure appropriate ethical and compliant behaviour within the area of responsibility by clear demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

Professional and Technical

• PostgreSQL Server DBA Experience in engineering and operations of PostgreSQL DBs
• Experience with Data Modelling tools
• Experience with UNIX and Linux Administration and scripting
• Installation, Configuration and Performance Tuning
• Expertise in backup/recovery and failover methods and best practices
• Experience with ESX virtual machines and Kubernetes
• Additional Preferred Skill Requirements: Knowledge of the Enterprise Architecture standards
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud
• Knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
• Knowledge of other standard databases such as Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB and Microsoft SQL
• Knowledge of Ansible
• Knowledge of GitLab
• Knowledge of the Systems Engineering Life Cycle methodology
• Familiarity with the complexities of working with the data centres- self-starting/self-driven; requires minimal guidance
• Able to work effectively in diverse environments with troubleshooting skills including areas such as storage, OS, patches and networking
• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, where use of and building multiple skill sets concurrently is required
• Exceptional intrapersonal and verbal/written communication skills
