Experience needed . We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Potato Preparation Operative. This role involves preparing potatoes for processing, ensuring quality standards are met, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. Responsibilities

• Sorting, peeling, and cutting potatoes according to specified standards and procedures
• Operating basic hand tools and power tools safely during preparation tasks
• Assisting with irrigation systems to ensure optimal crop growth conditions
• Conducting routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment utilised in potato processing
• Monitoring the condition of potatoes for quality assurance purposes
• Assisting with the organisation of storage areas and ensuring cleanliness of workspaces
• Supporting team members with heavy lifting and other manual handling duties as required
• Maintaining accurate records related to production activities and equipment maintenance
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Skills

• Basic knowledge of horticulture practices, particularly related to potato cultivation and harvesting
• Mechanical knowledge relevant to equipment repair and maintenance
• Experience with irrigation systems and understanding of plant care requirements is advantageous
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and perform minor repairs confidently
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in handling produce and maintaining records
• Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and prolonged periods of standing or manual work
• Basic maths skills for measurement, portioning, and record keeping purposes
• Familiarity with animal care or general farm maintenance is a plus but not essential
• Good teamwork ethic with effective communication skills
