Powder Coating Operator

Job Summary

As a Powder Coating Operator, you’ll prepare and coat manufactured parts, helping deliver consistent finishes that meet production quality standards. You’ll interpret production documents, prepare surfaces, operate coating equipment, and handle materials safely. This hands-on role suits someone who works carefully, follows safety protocols, and is comfortable using tools and measuring equipment.

Duties

• Prepare parts for production finishing, including cleaning and surface preparation used in construction painting and auto body repair.
• Apply powder coating and other finishes using painting and coating spray guns, conventional spraying, or airless paint spraying equipment.
• Inspect finished work for coverage, defects, and color match using visual color comparison and precision measuring instruments.
• Read production documents and use basic math to confirm job requirements and measurements.
• Handle materials and operate hand tools, power tools, and forklifts as authorized; support manufacturing and machining tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience or practical knowledge in powder coating, coating, industrial painting, construction painting, or production finishing is helpful.
• Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with manufacturing equipment, spray guns, and production processes are preferred.
• Ability to interpret production documents, perform basic math, and use precision measuring instruments.
• Follow safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection and a respirator when specified.
• Forklift experience is helpful; willingness to handle materials safely and use hand and power tools is important.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
