Powder Coating Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Powder Coating Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality powder coatings to various metal components, ensuring a durable and visually appealing finish. Your expertise will contribute to maintaining our production standards, optimizing coating processes, and supporting efficient manufacturing operations. Duties

• Prepare surfaces for coating by performing surface cleaning, sanding, and construction painting surface preparation to ensure optimal adhesion.
• Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, airless paint sprayers, and conventional spray systems, following safety protocols and manufacturer instructions.
• Handle materials safely using proper materials handling techniques and operate forklifts as needed for moving heavy components.
• Maintain quality standards in production by inspecting coated parts through visual color comparison and using precision measuring instruments to verify coating thickness.
• Interpret production documents such as work orders, process sheets, and quality standards to ensure accurate application of coatings.
• Adhere strictly to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, including respirators and respiratory protection gear, to ensure safety during all coating processes.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment and tools like hand tools, power tools, machining devices, and coating spray guns to ensure optimal performance.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining clean work areas, reducing waste, and streamlining coating operations.

Experience

• Prior experiencepowder coating environments is required; training will not be provided .
• Familiarity with safety protocol adherence and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as respirators is essential.
• Basic math skills are necessary for measuring coating thicknesses and interpreting production documentation accurately.
• Knowledge of construction painting surface preparation techniques and materials handling procedures will support success in this role.
• Experience with the use of hand tools, power tools, coating spray guns, airless paint spraying systems, and conventional spraying methods is highly desirable.

Join us in a fast-paced custom motorcycle shop , where we powder coat a variety of take off parts as well as some manufactutred parts. Motorcycle knowdlege a plus but not necessary, could work into a full time job

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
