Power BI Developer

Role Responsibilities:

• Partner with business users, data engineers, and other stakeholders to design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot business intelligence solutions including reports, dashboards and other interactive reporting tools.
• Develop, test, and maintain BI reports & dashboards using approved BI tools while utilizing UI/UX best practices in crafting visualizations for business results.
• Perform Proof of Concept on new BI Tools and analytic solutions.
• Create PowerBI Training modules needed to provide training to business users, junior members, and the rest of the organization on the use of visualization tools and other analytical approaches.
• Create technical documents such as solution design, program specifications, and other required documentation in the SDLC process.
• Ensure compliance with governance standards of the platform, security policies, and SDLC processes.
• Manage and ensure quality delivery of 3rd-party vendors where applicable.

Competencies:

• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of data architecture principles, data modeling techniques, data integration patterns, with experience in designing scalable and efficient data pipelines
• Data Analysis Skills: Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack (i.e. PowerBI, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS), DAX, PowerQuery, SQL, Data Modeling, Data Model normalization, with knowledge in data integration, warehousing, ETL, and cloud data platforms.
• Analytical Skills: Strong data storytelling and visualization skills, problem-solving capabilities, strong analytical skills, and flexibility to be able to handle complex situations as necessary
• Teamwork: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with an aptitude for working in cross-functional teams.
• Adaptability: Agile in adapting to change and learning new technologies.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree relevant to the job.
• Years of experience in developing BI solutions preferably from a bank or financial institution.
• Experience with Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack: PowerBI, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS and in using using DAX, PowerQuery, and SQL
• Experience in Data Modeling and Data Model normalization, data integration, warehousing, ETL, and cloud data platforms.
