What they need

Power Test Engineer | Austin, TX | On-site

Enjoy getting hands-on with power electronics hardware, understanding why something failed, and proving that the fix works?

Stelvio is partnering with an engineering business entering an exciting period of growth, new product development and expansion into new markets.

They’re looking for a Junior to Mid-Level, Power Electronics Test Engineers to help validate hardware, solve technical problems and improve product performance.

The Role

You’ll work across development, integration and manufacturing, with a varied mix of new hardware testing, bench troubleshooting and investigation of production or field failures.

  • Test and validate power converters and inverter hardware, including AC/DC, DC/AC and DC/DC systems.
  • Measure electrical performance, including voltage, current, power, efficiency, switching behavior and thermal response.
  • Diagnose faults using schematics, datasheets and bench measurements, identifying root causes and verifying corrective actions.
  • Develop test setups, procedures and reports that help engineering teams make informed decisions.
  • Work closely with hardware, firmware and manufacturing engineers to resolve issues and improve reliability.

The Requirements

  • Hands-on experience testing and troubleshooting power-conversion hardware.
  • Confidence using oscilloscopes, voltage/current probes, power analyzers, power supplies and electronic loads.
  • The ability to interpret schematics and understand circuit behavior when investigating faults.
  • Experience working safely with energized, high-voltage equipment.
  • A structured approach to testing, documenting results and explaining technical findings.

Why consider it?

Consistent technical mentorship. You’ll work alongside a highly experienced principal engineer who will help you deepen your understanding of power electronics, strengthen your troubleshooting approach and develop confidence with more complex hardware.

Career development through practical ownership. As your capabilities grow, you’ll have opportunities to take greater responsibility for testing, investigations and technical decisions, with experienced support along the way.

Variety in the day-to-day work. You could move from bringing up new hardware to investigating a field failure, improving a test setup or helping manufacturing resolve a production issue.

An opportunity to contribute as the business grows. New products and expansion into new markets will bring fresh engineering challenges and opportunities to broaden your experience.
