Power Plant Manager

We are seeking an experienced, technically proficient, and results-driven Power Plant Manager to oversee power generation operations, plant maintenance, and overall facility performance. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering knowledge, leadership capabilities, and operational management experience, with the ability to ensure reliable power generation, optimize plant efficiency, control operating costs, and maintain high standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily power plant operations to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient electricity generation.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, maintenance plans, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Monitor plant performance, equipment availability, energy efficiency, and generation output against operational targets.
• Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
• Ensure compliance with operational procedures, technical standards, environmental requirements, and workplace safety practices.
• Lead plant personnel, including operations, engineering, and maintenance teams, to achieve operational objectives.
• Monitor operating budgets, fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and resource utilization.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors, suppliers, and service providers to resolve technical and operational issues.
• Oversee equipment inspections, troubleshooting, plant upgrades, shutdowns, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Identify operational risks, investigate incidents, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including plant availability, reliability, efficiency, and operating costs.
• Maintain accurate operational records, maintenance documentation, performance reports, and safety records.
• Support emergency response planning, business continuity, and plant recovery procedures.
• Prepare operational reports, budgets, and performance reviews for senior management.
• Drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and workforce development initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred.
• Proven experience in power plant operations, power generation, plant engineering, or industrial facility management.
• Strong knowledge of power generation systems, plant operations, equipment maintenance, and reliability management.
• Experience managing technical teams, operating budgets, maintenance schedules, and plant performance.
• Good understanding of industrial safety, risk management, environmental controls, and quality standards.
• Familiarity with plant monitoring systems, control systems, maintenance management software, and performance analysis tools.
• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to manage complex operations, respond to emergencies, and make decisions under pressure.
• High standards of safety awareness, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Relevant professional certifications and experience with thermal, gas-fired, hydroelectric, renewable, or other power generation facilities are an advantage.
