Power System Engineer

About the role

The Power System Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, and evaluation of electrical power systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation. The role involves power system studies, coordination with design and construction teams, and compliance with applicable electrical codes and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform power system studies including load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, protection coordination studies, and arc flash studies
• Evaluate system performance for substations, transmission, and distribution networks
• Develop and review single line diagrams (SLD) and power system schematics
• Specify and review electrical equipment ratings such as transformers, switchgear, breakers, and protective devices
• Review vendor technical submissions and ensure compliance with project requirements and standards
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and recommendations
• Ensure designs and studies comply with Philippine Electrical Code (PEC), IEC / IEEE standards, and utility, client, and regulatory requirements
• Support system safety, reliability, and risk mitigation initiatives
• Coordinate with design engineers, project engineers, and construction teams
• Provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 2–5 years experience in power system analysis or design
• Licensed Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) or Professional Electrical Engineer (PEE) is an advantage
• Experience in power utilities, EPC, or construction projects is preferred
• Proficient in power system software such as ETAP, SKM, DIgSILENT, or equivalent
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documents
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
