What they need
History doesn’t repeat itself. It’s rebuilt - one breakthrough at a time. Be part of the team redefining performance and writing the next winning chapter for Atlassian Williams F1 Team.
Atlassian Williams F1 Team – Shape our team's next chapter:
For nearly 50 years, Williams F1 Team has pushed the limits of speed and innovation. As one of the most successful teams in F1 history, with 16 World Championships and a legacy shaped by legends like Sir Frank Williams and Nigel Mansell, we’re now on a bold mission to reclaim our place at the front and win multiple championships again.
Our People Promise:
Join a high-performance team where ambition and our people promise guide everything we do. In a fast-paced, challenging environment, your work directly shapes our winning formula. Collaborate with the brightest minds in motorsport, building on our rich heritage and pushing the boundaries of speed and innovation. We want people who live our values - innovation, teamwork, resilience, excellence, and accountability to create the winning formula that drives Williams F1 Team back to the top.
At Atlassian Williams F1 Team, our Industrial Placement gives ambitious students 12 months inside Formula 1. You’ll take on real responsibility with projects that shape the future car and our business. Grow with a cohort from day one, then head back to university with experience you can apply immediately. Join a high-performance team, push boundaries, make an impact.
Vehicle Engineering is at the heart of engineering disciplines with Atlassian Williams F1 Team. A team of highly skilled and experienced designers work closely with all other engineering disciplines within the team such as Aerodynamics, Vehicle Dynamics, Manufacturing and Simulation to name a few, to deliver the car design in relentless pursuit of performance using leading edge manufacturing, design and materials technology.
In this placement, you’ll take power unit integration components from initial concept through to a finished part fitted on the car. You’ll weigh up mass, stiffness and cost as you design, then work with test and production teams to prove your ideas hold up on track.
- Design and detail car components, balancing weight, strength and cost
- Support structural and functional calculations that back up your designs
- Work with aerodynamics, chassis, electronics and production teams, putting teamwork into practice as you fit power unit parts into the wider car
- Draw on resilience as you investigate faults and see each one through to a fix
What we are looking for:
- Studying towards a degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace or a related engineering discipline
- Some experience with CAD is useful, but full training is provided
