Power Yoga Instructor

YogaSix West Vancouver is looking for strong, energetic, and passionate Yoga instructors who want to guide and empower students in our growing community. We are looking in particular for strong Power/vinyasa teachers who have experience creating unique and challenging classes that ramp up and build heat quickly, burn-out muscle groups, and allow members to really push themselves physically and mentally.

We are a dedicated team of teachers who are passionate about leading fun classes that focus on strength, flexibility, and mindfulness, while also staying accessible to all. Our teachers create a supportive and fun environment in our heated, low-lit room, complete with multi-colored lights. Teachers utilize a room full of props and modifications for support, encourage students to take their own pace, and always lead with the breath. We believe that yoga is for everyone, and everybody deserves movement, relaxation, and self-care in their daily lives.

Our instructors are encouraged to teach and/or sub a variety of our Yoga formats: Signature Hot, Power Flow, Slow Flow, and Restore. YogaSix is a corporate franchise with branded formats that include specific teacher guidelines, timing benchmarks, and intensity requirements. As a part of our brand, teachers must be willing to adhere to our formats and be open to consistent and supportive feedback provided by leadership.

Qualities of a YogaSix Instructor:

• Ability to lead energizing and/or relaxing classes that meet our brand standards
• Create an engaging, warm environment that invokes connection
• Utilizes props + cues modifications to ensure class is accessible to all members
• Willingness to be a team player and work together with our front desk staff + leadership team
• Being a student themselves: someone who is eager for growth, coaching, and continued development
• Enthusiastic to teach and/or sub multiple formats

Job Responsibilities:

• Arrive to studio a minimum of 15-30 minutes before class start time
• Create a class experience that highlights your skills while adhering to our brand standards
• Ensure the room is set up appropriately: start music, adjust lighting, and communicate what props are needed
• Provide top-notch class instruction that is warm, engaging + professional
• Follow-up with students after class to increase community connection
• Assist front desk team with cleaning the studio room (wiping down studio mats, light mopping, picking up towels, tidying prop room, etc.)
• Build connections with coworkers and students, and be a respectful and active part of our community

Position Requirements:

• Demonstrate the ability to teach a fun, engaging + creative class
• Ability to connect with students on a personal level
• Willingness to be coached, grow, and participate in continued education opportunities
• Initiate conversations with students + provide exceptional client service
• Minimum 200-hour Yoga Alliance Certification
• 1+ year teaching experience preferred
• Current CPR Certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire

Candidates will be invited to attend a preliminary audition at our studio, and will teach our team a full 60-minute class as a test-out for their desired format.

Compensation: Class rate begins at $50/class and varies based on experience/ability/formats. Position includes a monthly membership and discounts on retail.
