Powerline Worker – Relocate to South Australia

Build your powerline career in Australia with SA Power Networks

SA Power Networks is inviting experienced New Zealand Powerline Workers to relocate to South Australia and continue their career with one of Australia’s most respected electricity distributors.

We offer a fully supported relocation pathway, internal training, modern equipment, and long-term career opportunities across metropolitan and regional South Australia.

Locations include Adelaide CBD, Clare, Murray Bridge, Wingfield, Holden Hill and Elizabeth.

About the role

Powerline Workers play a critical role in maintaining and restoring SA Power Networks’ overhead and underground electricity distribution network, helping connect South Australians to a safe, reliable, and sustainable energy future.

Working as part of a field-based crew, you will deliver planned and reactive network works across metropolitan and regional environments. This includes fault response and restoration, maintenance activities, network upgrades, and emergency response work to help keep power flowing to homes, businesses, and communities across South Australia.

Safety is our highest priority — for our people, the public, and the communities we serve. A strong commitment to safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement is essential in everything we do

Training & transition to SA Power Networks assets

Regardless of your previous experience in New Zealand or elsewhere, all Powerline Workers must complete SAPN-specific training before working on our network.

This is a non-negotiable safety and compliance requirement, designed to ensure that:

  • You are fully competent on SAPN assets, equipment, and procedures
  • You return home safely every day
  • You are set up for long-term success within our network

This training is fully supported by SA Power Networks, delivered by experienced trainers, and designed to build on your existing skills- not replace them.
