Powertrain and Systems Evaluation Driver

Join a mission-driven team ensuring every vehicle meets stringent real-world standards. You’ll put advanced pre-production and production vehicles through their paces, then translate your observations into actionable insights.

Imagine this

Dawn departure. The road is wet and visibility is low—perfect conditions to verify traction control, braking feel, and NVH. Later, you guide an oversized vehicle through tight urban turns, then document how the transmission responds during steady-state cruising. By shift end, you’ve logged a full evaluation and delivered a crisp report that helps engineers refine the next build.

Schedule

• 1st shift: 4:00 am – 12:30 pm
• 2nd shift: 4:00 pm – 12:30 am
• Saturday/Sunday: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm

Shifts generally run 8–10 hours.

Core responsibilities

• Conduct complete vehicle evaluations and submit a clear, concise report for each vehicle driven.
• Drive along assigned routes for 8–10 hours while performing test procedures.
• Operate with exceptional safety, adhering to all road laws and internal safety/security procedures.
• Confidently maneuver oversized vehicles.
• Comfortably drive in inclement weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Hardworking, detail-oriented, and collaborative team contributor.
• 21+ years of age; valid Michigan driver’s license held for at least 5 years.
• No points; no major traffic citations or accidents in the last three years; no DUI or DWAI.
• Map-reading skills; ability to use an iPad/tablet for navigation and reporting.
• Able to lift at least 25 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Available 3–5 days per week (5 preferred).
• Capable of prolonged driving with sustained focus.
• Strong verbal communication; legible, detailed written reports.
• Reliable attendance; able to follow directions and complete all required training.
• Positive attitude that supports team success.
