About CTO Digital

CTO Digital is a growing digital marketing agency based in Middlesbrough, providing businesses across the UK with results-driven digital marketing solutions. We specialise in SEO, PPC, website design and development, helping our clients improve their online visibility, generate quality leads and achieve sustainable business growth.

As we continue to expand, we're looking for a talented and motivated PPC Specialist to join our team and play a key role in delivering successful paid advertising campaigns for our clients.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced PPC professional who enjoys taking ownership of campaigns, analysing performance and developing strategies that deliver measurable results.

The Role

As a PPC Specialist at CTO Digital, you'll be responsible for managing and optimising paid advertising campaigns across a diverse portfolio of clients and industries.

You'll take ownership of campaigns from initial planning and setup through to ongoing management, reporting and optimisation, ensuring that advertising budgets are used effectively and campaigns consistently deliver against client objectives.

Working alongside our wider digital marketing team, you'll help develop effective advertising strategies that generate leads, increase conversions and maximise return on investment.

We're looking for someone who is proactive, analytical and confident in their ability to manage multiple client accounts while maintaining excellent standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, create, manage and optimise PPC campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads) and paid social media platforms.
  • Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis and audience targeting to identify opportunities for campaign growth.
  • Monitor campaign performance, making ongoing adjustments to improve conversion rates, reduce wasted advertising spend and maximise ROI.
  • Manage advertising budgets effectively, ensuring campaigns deliver the best possible results for clients.
  • Develop and implement PPC strategies tailored to individual client requirements and business objectives.
  • Create compelling advertising copy and test different approaches to improve campaign performance.
  • Analyse campaign data using Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager and other relevant reporting tools.
  • Produce clear, insightful performance reports that demonstrate results and identify areas for improvement.
  • Identify opportunities to expand and improve existing client campaigns.
  • Collaborate with our SEO, web development and wider digital marketing teams to deliver integrated marketing strategies.
  • Stay up to date with changes to advertising platforms, PPC best practices and developments within the digital marketing industry.

Skills & Experience Required

We're looking for someone with previous experience managing PPC campaigns who can confidently take responsibility for multiple advertising accounts.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience managing PPC campaigns, ideally within a digital marketing agency.
  • Strong working knowledge of Google Ads, including Search, Display, Performance Max and remarketing campaigns.
  • Experience using Microsoft Advertising and paid social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn would be advantageous.
  • A good understanding of keyword research, bidding strategies, campaign structures and conversion tracking.
  • Experience using Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Google Tag Manager.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and turn insights into actionable improvements.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to discuss campaign performance and recommendations with colleagues and clients.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • A genuine interest in digital marketing and keeping up with industry developments.

Previous digital marketing agency experience would be highly desirable, although we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant in-house PPC experience.
