Practice Development Attorney

J. Katz & Partners is conducting a search for a Practice Development Lawyer on behalf of a leading global law firm.

The position serves as a substantive knowledge, training, and practice support resource for the firm’s Global Funds group. Working with partners, associates, and professional staff, the lawyer will maintain core practice resources, contribute to attorney development, and support thought leadership and business development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain forms, precedents, practice guides, and research resources reflecting current law and market practice.
• Help plan and deliver substantive training, onboarding, and CLE programs; serve as a resource for associates.
• Monitor regulatory and market developments and contribute to client alerts, articles, and other publications.
• Evaluate legal technology and AI-assisted workflows for accuracy and practical application; support attorney adoption.
• Provide substantive support for pitches, client presentations, and partner speaking materials.
• Coordinate knowledge management priorities and processes across the practice and relevant firm teams.

Qualifications

• Ideally, three to five years of experience as a funds lawyer.
• Admission in good standing to the New York State Bar.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. funds law, including fund formation documents, offering materials, and side letters.
• Interest in knowledge management, legal technology, training, and attorney development.
• Excellent drafting and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage projects independently and collaboratively.
