What they need

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to join our GP practice and take a key role in the day to day running and future development of the practice.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on, solving problems and making a real difference. The successful candidate will work closely with the GP Partners and wider practice team to ensure the practice operates effectively, safely and provides a high standard of service to patients.

The role

The Practice Manager will have responsibility for the overall operational management of the practice, including:

  • Managing and supporting the practice team
  • Workforce planning, recruitment and staff development
  • HR processes, staff performance and absence management
  • Financial and budget management
  • Practice policies, procedures and governance
  • CQC compliance and inspection readiness
  • Quality improvement and monitoring of practice performance
  • Complaints and significant event processes
  • QOF, enhanced services and other contractual requirements
  • Working with PCN, ICB and other external organisations
  • Reviewing and improving practice systems and processes
  • Supporting the GP Partners with the strategic development of the practice
  • Ensuring appropriate risk management and patient safety processes are in place
  • Improving efficiency, patient access and the overall patient experience

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience in a Practice Manager or senior healthcare management role
  • Has a good understanding of general practice and NHS primary care
  • Is organised, proactive and able to work independently
  • Has strong leadership and communication skills
  • Is confident dealing with HR, finance, governance and operational issues
  • Can identify problems and, importantly, find practical solutions
  • Is comfortable working in a busy and changing environment
  • Has the ability to build positive relationships with staff, clinicians and external organisations
  • Is committed to continuous improvement and delivering high standards of care

This role would suit someone who enjoys being hands on and making things happen, and implementing change, rather than simply overseeing existing processes.

What we can offer

  • NHS Pension Scheme
  • Annual leave entitlement plus bank holidays
  • Opportunities for professional development
  • Support for relevant further education and training
  • A key role in shaping the future direction of the practice
  • The opportunity to make a genuine and lasting difference to the practice and its patients

Pay: From £35,000.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Free parking
  • On-site parking
