ABOUT THE ROLE

We're hiring a quality-oriented Fire Suppression Systems Technician to install kitchen hood fire suppression systems, inspect hand portable fire extinguishers, and support our shop area with hydro-testing and recharging portable extinguishers. You'll also work on industrial and vehicle suppression systems. All work is performed in accordance with NFPA 10, 17, 17A, and 96.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Install kitchen hood fire suppression systems
• Inspect hand portable fire extinguishers
• Hydro-test and recharge portable fire extinguishers in our shop area
• Service kitchen, industrial, and vehicle suppression systems
• Perform all work in accordance with NFPA 10, 17, 17A, and 96
• Troubleshoot system issues and complete necessary repairs
• Respond to emergency service calls when needed
• Complete daily service reports and documentation
• Assist with shop inventory and material processing
• Juggle multiple tasks to maintain production deadlines
• Take on other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• Illinois Extinguisher license, plus Illinois Kitchen and Industrial licenses
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Mechanical aptitude and a quality-oriented approach to your work
• Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs. and climb ladders
• Basic computer skills for email, reports, and spreadsheets
• Background in plumbing or pipe fitting is helpful, but not required
• Two or more years of experience with kitchen hood fire suppression systems is a plus
• Experience inspecting and servicing fire extinguishers, and quoting repairs and installations, is a plus
• Motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment
• Ability to pass a pre-employment physical, drug test, and background check
• Compliance with the company Drug & Alcohol Policy — this is a safety-sensitive position and marijuana use is prohibited

SCHEDULE & TRAINING

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with flexible hours throughout the weekdays. Out-of-town work requiring as many as three overnights per week may be required. Technicians also respond to emergency service calls as needed. Training is provided on all equipment, and compensation will be commensurate with your experience.
