Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

Job Summary
Lighthouse Christian Academy is seeking a full-time Pre-K Teacher for the 2027–28 school year.

We are looking for a joyful, energetic teacher who genuinely loves young children and enjoys partnering with their families. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who brings warmth, creativity, initiative, and strong communication to the classroom. This position requires someone who can work with a high degree of independence while creating a classroom characterized by both grace and high expectations.

Duties

• Create a joyful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for Pre-K students.
• Plan and implement instruction that supports students' academic, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Establish consistent classroom routines and clear, age-appropriate expectations.
• Foster curiosity, independence, kindness, and a love of learning in young children.
• Build strong relationships with students and communicate proactively and professionally with families.
• Assess student growth and use observations and assessment data to inform instruction.
• Collaborate with colleagues while taking ownership of the day-to-day needs and direction of the Pre-K classroom.
• Contribute positively to the broader Lighthouse Christian Academy community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience teaching or working with young children strongly preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, reliability, flexibility, and ability to work independently.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both children and families.
