Pre-Production Coordinator - 3rd shift

About The Role The Double Backer Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process within the non-durable goods sector by operating and maintaining double-backing machinery to ensure high-quality product output. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to monitor machine performance, adjust settings, and troubleshoot issues, ensuring consistent production standards are maintained. The operator will collaborate closely with quality control and maintenance teams to optimize workflow and minimize downtime. Ensuring safety protocols and operational guidelines are strictly followed is essential to protect both personnel and equipment. Ultimately, the Double Backer Operator makes a significant contribution to meeting production targets and maintaining the overall efficiency of the manufacturing line.

2nd Shift Hours - 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Monday - Friday - Weekend work may be required.

Overtime Required Preferred Qualifications:

• Possess reading and writing skills
• Must be able to read a ruler
• Effectively communicate instrustions
• Must be able to qualify for forklift license to operate a man lift.
• Must be comfortable with heights of up to 25 feet.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Materials: inks, printing plates, cutting dies, stripping dies, mylars, swatches, matrix scores, etc.
• Information: read and understand customer order for location of materials. Use function checklist for plates, dies and inks to observe any problems and repair them.
• Assist with set-up for printers and die cutters
• Promptly report problems, concerns or out-of-standard conditions to the supervisor.
• Assist with all Productivity Improvement Projects.
• Working at heights up to 25 feet is required

• ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Use a set-up checklist to supply material and information to all machines.

Materials: inks, printing plates, cutting dies, stripping dies, mylars, swatches, matrix scores, etc. Information: read and understand customer order for location of materials. Use function checklist for plates, dies and inks to observe any problems and repair them.

• Assist with set-up for printers and die cutters
• Promptly report problems, concerns or out-of-standard conditions to the supervisor.
• Assist with all Productivity Improvement Projects.
• Working at heights up to 25 feet is required
• SECONDARY FUNCTIONS
• Learn to mix inks and perform task as needed.
• Learn to operate Die wash machine and assist in die mounting area for cleanup of dies and storage.
• Routine clean-up including sweeping floors, cleaning machines, etc.
• Read masters, load tags
• Prepare load tags, shipping information, etc.
• Assist machine centers as needed (ie: feed machines, stack off machines, etc.)
• QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
• Possess reading and writing skills
• Must be able to read a ruler
• Effectively communicate instructions.
• Must qualify for forklift license for man lift.
• Perform manual labor (example: heavy lifting and moving of cutting dies, printing plates and inks
• Work overtime as necessary to meet production requirements
• Maintain an acceptable attendance and punctuality record.
• Adhere to all company safety rules and policies.
